Sales history and receipts

Sales History on the register is where you go to answer a question about a sale that has already happened: what was on it, what it came to, and getting the customer another copy of the receipt.

It appears in the menu for managers, and for cashiers whose role includes processing refunds. Looking a sale up is the first step of a refund, so the two travel together.

Open Sales History from the menu. Today’s sales for this outlet are already listed.

Narrow it down with:

  • The customer field, which matches on a customer’s name, phone, or email.
  • Receipt # with the Search button beside it, when the customer has the receipt in their hand.
  • The date chips: Today, Yesterday, Last 7d, Last 30d, or a custom range you pick.
  • The status chips: All, Completed, Partially refunded, Refunded, Voided.
  • This outlet or All outlets, when you need a sale rung up somewhere else.

Clear puts every filter back.

Each row shows the receipt number and when it was rung up, the customer if there was one, how many items and units, the total, and a status tag. A refund row shows its total as a negative figure.

The Receipt button on the right of a row reprints straight away, which is the common case.

For everything else, tap the row.

  • View receipt opens the receipt on screen. This is how you check a sale when there is no printer.
  • Print receipt reprints it on the paired printer.
  • Email receipt sends it.
  • Return starts a refund. See Refunds and returns.
  • Void is grayed out here on purpose. Voiding only applies to a sale that was parked and never completed. A completed sale comes back through Return.

A sale that is already refunded or voided says so at the top of the list, and its Return action is off.

Select Email receipt.

If the sale already has a customer with an email address on it, the action names that address and sends to it.

If it does not, OLET asks who to send it to. What you see depends on your role:

  • You can view and manage customers. Search for a customer, or add a new one there and then. Any address you add lands on that customer’s record, so it is there next time.
  • You can view customers but not manage them. The search says “Find the customer to send this receipt to.” and has no New customer button. If the customer you pick has no address, an Email address window asks you to type one. It is used for this receipt only and is not saved.
  • You can’t view customers. The window shows a grayed-out search with “You don’t have permission to view customers.” Type the address into Email address and select Send receipt. Nothing is saved.

From Sales History, sending to someone who is not on the sale still sends the receipt, and OLET tells you the sale itself was left as it was. Attaching a customer to a sale days after the fact would rewrite who bought what, and it is already in your reports, so OLET does not do it.

You can also look sales up from the back office. See Sales history in the back office.

  • No printer. No printer is paired with this device. Use View receipt to show the sale on screen while you sort the printer out. See Hardware > Receipt printers.
  • Print failed. The printer is paired but did not respond. Check it is switched on and in range, then print again.
  • That address has been rejecting mail. The receipt was not sent. Check the address with the customer and correct it on their record.
  • That address has opted out. The customer unsubscribed from your store’s email. Print the receipt instead.
  • Email is not set up for this store yet. Nobody can email receipts until an owner finishes email setup in the back office.
  • Could not load sales. The register could not reach the list. Check the connection and select Retry.
  • No sales found. The filters are excluding it. Widen the dates, set the status to All, and try All outlets.
