Quick keys are the grid of product tiles on the sell screen. Tapping one adds that product to the cart, which is faster than searching for the things you sell all day and the only good option for anything without a barcode.
A set of tiles is a layout. A layout is built once and then used by as many registers as you like, so every till in the shop can share the same grid.
Quick keys are built in the register app, not in the back office. On a phone the grid is folders only, and tapping a folder opens its products.
Build a layout
Section titled “Build a layout”- In the register app, go to Settings > Quick keys.
- Select New layout, give it a Layout name such as Front counter, and it opens.
- Tap an empty product slot, marked + Add, and pick the product. There are 12 product slots on the top surface.
- Tap an empty folder slot, marked + Folder, name it, and it holds 9 more products. There are 4 folder slots, so a full layout reaches 48 products.
- Tap a filled slot to Replace product or Remove product. There is no separate save step. Every change is stored as you make it.
Rename in the top bar renames the layout. Inside a folder, it renames the folder instead.
Put a layout on a register
Section titled “Put a layout on a register”Open Settings > Quick keys on the register you want to change, find the layout, and select Use here. The card for the layout your current register is on is tagged In use here, and each card says how many registers are using it.
That means you assign a layout from the register that will use it, standing at that till. A register with no layout assigned shows No quick keys yet on the sell screen, with a Set up quick keys button that takes you into the same place.
Delete a layout
Section titled “Delete a layout”Select Delete on the layout card and confirm. If registers are using it, the confirmation says so. Those registers fall back to no grid, and their cashiers search or scan until a layout is assigned again.
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”Editing quick keys is a permission your role either holds or does not. If your role does not hold it, Settings > Quick keys is not there and the sell screen explains the empty grid without offering to fix it. Ask an owner or a manager.
If it goes wrong
Section titled “If it goes wrong”- The grid is empty on one till only. That register has no layout assigned. Use Use here on that device.
- A product you added is not on the grid. Only a filled slot renders. Check you were inside the folder you meant to be in, because a folder has its own 9 slots separate from the top surface.
Where to go next
Section titled “Where to go next”Read Make a sale for the other two ways to get a product into the cart.
