A brand says who makes a product. A supplier says who you buy it from. They are separate lists, and a product carries one brand but can carry several suppliers.

## Brands

Go to **Catalog > Brands** and select **Add brand**. A brand needs a **Brand name** and can carry a **Description**.

Set a product's brand from the **Brand** dropdown in its **Classification** section. Brand is also a filter on the product list and a rule you can use in a product set.

Deleting a brand deletes nothing else. The products that used it are left with no brand and are otherwise untouched.

## Suppliers

Go to **Catalog > Suppliers** and select **Add supplier**. Only **Supplier name** is required. **Billing info** and **Shipping info** each open as their own section and hold the contact and address you order against.

Link a supplier to a product from the **Suppliers** section on the product page. Each link carries its own **Supplier price**, **Supplier code**, and a **Primary supplier** switch, so you can hold two sources for the same product and compare what they cost you.

**A supplier is what you raise a purchase order against**, under [**Inventory > Purchase orders**](/resources/help/inventory/purchase-orders/).

Deleting a supplier removes it from every product that used it and takes that product's supplier price and code with it. Purchase orders you have already raised keep naming the supplier.
